Venez aussi parce que Kačkala y joue. C’est à la dernière minute mais ça me donne l’occase d’en parler. Kačkala est un groupe basé en république Tchèque composé de cinq bonnes copines dont Hilary de Sabot et Lexa de Toychestra. On les a rencontré il y a des années déjà et on a jamais cessé de les aimer. C’est un groupe vocal, si si complètement a cappella et c’est vraiment vraiment très bien. Bref tout ça pour dire qu’en ce moment elles sont en résidence à Grrrnd zero et que c’est nous qui nous occupons de ça. Ca faisait longtemps qu’on avait rien fait en collaboration avec eux/ elles (grrrnd zero) et que ça nous trottait un peu dans la tête. Démarrer cette série de programmes de résidences, surtout en commençant par Kačkala est vraiment très excitant. J’espère qu’il y en aura d’autres. Elles font aussi deux trois autres dates dans le coin.

“Songs to defy”, the new DOPPLeR album is gettng ready. Again, it’s a great album and we’re very very very excited to work with them again on this new project. The record will come out the second or third week of september. To keep yu waiting, here’s one of the songs:

DOPPLeR - My third life minimum

NED have released a new 7″ on the great British label MOTIVE SOUNDS. There are two songs, one is a newer dub(ish) version of THE MESSAGE, the opening song for their las album RIEN MERCI and the other was never released before but there are good chances that it will appear in their next album.

C’était vraiment frustrant et décevant d’avoir eu a faire ça et on espère que ça n’arrivera jamais plus. Encore une fois pardon et on espère revenir très bientôt.

We’re very very very excited because a new DOPPLeR album will come out soon. Certainly in september. We’ll have the chance to talk about it more precisely soon but right all I can say is that I’ve heard it and it’s brilliant. It was recorded at the BLACK BOX studios in Angers by Peter Deimel and it will be called “songs to defy”. Der Kommissar is currently doing the artwork.

DOPPLer has already two albums on S.K and a bunch of other things as well

The Rubiks have finished recording and mixing their debut album. It has been recorded at SUPADOPE FACTORY in Lyon by Niko Matagrin. It contains 8 songs, one of which is a 22 min epic anthem. We really had a good time recording it and we’re all very excited to be a real band at last. For those who have no idea: The Rubiks are Andy Duracell on drums, Seb Radix from Kabuki Buddah on bass and vocals, and myself, who also plays in NED on guitar and vocals too. The story of the Rubiks is funny and frustrating at the same time because we started this thing as a joke. Actually a friend of ours decided to hook all of us together to start an all star band of his own, with whom he could play the producer and then it really got out of handy because we started loving playing together beyond any attempt and we really have allways wanted to be a real band but our real real bands were very demanding as well and time was hard to find, not only time to just hang out and have some good time together, no, that was not the worst part and we kept writing songs over the years. No being a real band requires some time off to get our shit together and to stay motivated. We held on and now we finally got an album and it really is exciting. Seb from the Kwack collective in Clermont Ferrand will do the artwork and Choko is going to master it next week it should - if everything works fine - be out shortly after the summer, and we’ll post some mp3s here and there in the meantime. So you’ll hear from us sometime soon…

I swear this is my last attempt in finding a good way to regularly update this site. Even when I’m out of town, which is a lot at the moment. So: there you have the news blog of S.K records which will be updated hopefully at least every week. I won’t translate it. It will be in English or in french when I feel lazy, don’t worry, you’ll see that french is not so unbearable when written and I’ll put photos to illustrate. Anyways. Enjoy. Ciao.
